In 2015 Queen’s partnered with the Urban Villages initiative to introduce a place-based focus to Street Society for the first time. It was also kindly supported by Queen’s Annual Fund. From 9-13 March, Queen’s architecture students relocated to the Skyline Building, an empty retail and warehouse space on the Newtownards Road, to work on projects for local clients.

The lower section of the Newtownards Road (the area reaching from Grampian Avenue at the Arches down to City East) has been designated Urban Village status under the Together: Building a United Community strategy.
